“Late in March, a place called Lubeck was hailed with bombs. Next in line would be Cologne, and soon enough, many more German cities, including Munich.
Yes, the boss was at my shoulder.
‘Get it done, get it done.’
The bombs were coming-and so was I.”(Page 335)
This
part of the book is really confusing if you didn’t know that this whole quote
was narrated by death. The bombs were coming was also saying that death was coming
to collect the dead bodied souls. This quote is about the middle of the book
when you really know that its death that is narrating this book because the
next chapter is called “Death’s Diary: Cologne” (Page 336). The part after the colon
was one of the cities that was to be bombed. This tells you about what the
whole chapter is to be about it is about death describing the bombing and
describing the death caused by the bombs. Munich was the city that our Protagonist
was living in so it was important because it was a BIG clue about future of
what will be in the book. . The line ‘Yes, the boos was at my shoulder’ I still
don’t know the meaning I am guessing that he is describing Hitler if not then I
don’t know you will have to read the
book yourself to find out.
